Reply to Euthanasia - Wrong or right?

I have some rather controversial thoughts on this post because it states that if the person is dying of a terminal illness then that makes it right for them to kill themselves but "normal" suicide is not!

I cannot say i agree with taking your own life or not because i think that it is a very personal decision that until any of us are in that predicament we cannot judge?!

My dad had a very close friend who i grew up to know as my "Uncle", he was a happy go lucky bloke. He had a loving family, who had plenty of money behind them and he had many friends and a fantastic job so why on earth did one night my dad receive a phone call from my "Uncles" brother to tell him that he had been found dead?! It had been a suicide!

He had only been to see my dad days before and showed no perculiar signs of depression or of what was to become of him....

However, revelations happened when his mum and dad had to start sorting things out. They found some awful things out....he had met a new girlfriend and he poured all of his money and heart into the relationship because he had never really had a real girlfriend before. But whilst doing this he had stopped paying his bills. He had been living in a house with no electricity, gas or water for over three weeks! But he had this girlfriend so he didnt seem to mind, but then she dumped him and he went home knowing the bailiffs were due to come to his house at 9am the next morning and hung himself.....after two failed attempts.

I am not saying taking his life was the right or wrong thing to do....because to this day i miss him so much! BUT it was after all his decision....it was his life and he knew what he was doing with it! He could have asked for help yet he chose not to....was he selfish was he wrong....i cant tell you but all i can say is i hope that he is happier where he is now!
